The Nevada Committee of Blind Vendors (NCBV) is authorized under the Federal Randolph-Sheppard Act and Nevada Revised Statute 426 to participate with the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Division's Bureau of Services to the Blind and Visually Impaired (BSBVI) in major administrative decisions, policy and program development; to receive grievances from blind licensees and advocating for such licensees; participate with BSBVI in developing and administering a system of transfer, promotion, training and re-training for blind licensees; and to sponsor meetings and instructional conferences for blind licensees. The NCBV meets these responsibilities through the active participation of the committee members and the various NCBV subcommittees tasked with developing specific program areas such as Policies and Procedures; Audit and Budget; Site Expansion and Long Range Planning; Health and Retirement; Training; and Public Relations and Advertising. |
