Nevada’s state and local workforce investment boards and the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation, are dedicated to the development of policy and program initiatives to promote training, education, and job opportunities to help youth succeed as lifelong learners, productive workers, and self-sufficient, responsible citizens. Youth employment programs are funded through the federal Workforce Investment Act –IA Title 1B Youth. The purpose of employment programs for youth is to enhance opportunities in:
Youth ages 14 through 21 may be eligible to participate in Nevada’s youth
employment programs. Program participants must comply with citizenship and
eligibility to work requirements; provide documentation of registration
with the Social Security Administration; and if the youth is male –must
comply with Selective Service registration requirements.
