Career Enhancement Program Information:

CEP Offers Unemployed Nevadans Enhanced Employment Futures.

  • CEP serves Nevada employers by building a stronger, more skilled and reliable work force by placing program qualified unemployed Nevadans into training and re-training situations increasing their employability and decreasing the probability of future unemployment.

  • CEP offers basic academic, vocational and on-the-job training to help unemployed Nevadans gain necessary skills to meet the demands of today's changing labor market -- to find jobs and keep jobs.

  • The goal of CEP is to infuse Nevada businesses with a more skilled and reliable work force.  The program offers employers the opportunity to enhance their work force with qualified, competent employees -- trained to the employer's unique needs.

Employers participating in the Career Enhancement Program benefit in several ways.

  • Employers providing on-the-job training opportunities to CEP clients receive financial assistance to help defray training costs for each full-time trainee who successfully completes their individual training program. Training cost incentives help employers, while CEP trainees gain valuable job training, and the promise of full-time employment upon completion of training contracts.

  • CEP representatives refer on-the-job training applicants for your consideration so the employee is trained your way.

  • CEP representatives do most of the paperwork, to ease the use of the program for employers, so there is little or no red tape.

  • CEP participants tend to collect Unemployment Insurance benefits for a shorter duration.

  • CEP helps employers build a stronger, more reliable work force.

CEP offers workers the opportunity to take command of their individual employment futures -- equipped with the necessary skills to obtain steady employment and reduce the possibility of future job loss.

CEP Trainees can secure their place in Nevada's work force by receiving on-the-job training, basic academic and/or vocational classroom training individually tailored for each client.

CEP participants receive:
