Council Members High tech scenes

Despite that fact that the IT Industry represents only a small percentage of total state employment, the state has a strong information technology presence already established.

GWIB Information Technology Sector Council Strategic Plan 2013

The more complex the business, the more staff are needed to keep servers, databases, accounting systems, websites and more running smoothly.  Nevada is emerging as an advanced center for information technology businesses, with promising IT growth opportunities.

One of the challenges for the state and IT sector is its relatively small, but growing, high-tech workforce.  The mission of the GWIB Information Technology Sector Council is to identify workforce needs and develop initiatives to educate its workforce in support of the economic development goals of the state.

The IT Sector Council has an
Education/Training/Marketing Subcommittee that works with the council in achieving its goals.
